Getting a Florida Animal Friend specialty plate is only a few clicks away
Yes, you can give a license plate as a gift! Gift certificates are a simple, meaningful way to honor an animal lover in your life—someone who would enjoy driving around with a pet-themed Florida tag design while making a real difference for pets across the state.
How it works:
Every plate helps fund grants for clinics and organizations that provide low-cost or no-cost spay and neuter services.
Thanks to Floridians like you, the program has provided over $8.8 million in grants since 2005. Each grant helps limit pet homelessness and supports communities that need it most.

Our specialty plate is available in every county in Florida, so you can order it no matter where you live in the state.
Each county website looks a little different, but specialty plates are usually listed under vehicle tags or license plates. Once you see “Specialty License Plates,” just follow the steps your county provides.
Most people can complete the process in just a few minutes once they’re on their county’s site. After that, your county tax collector will process and issue your specialty plate, which can take several weeks depending on local processing and mail times.
The $25 contribution is annual and supports ongoing spay and neuter efforts across Florida.
You don’t have to wait for your renewal date—you can request a Florida Animal Friend specialty plate at any time. Your local tax collector will adjust the fees based on where you are in your current registration period and let you know exactly what to expect. To see when your registration expires, you can check your status on the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website.
