In operation since 1946, the St. Augustine Humane Society (SAHS) restructured and refocused its mission in 2008 to meet the needs of the community. The programs are specially designed to address the issues that contribute to the relinquishment of pets to shelters. With the help of Florida Animal Friend, Inc., SAHS can offer low-income pet owners spay/neuter services at no cost while continuing to focus specialized efforts on cat populations.
