You might already be aware that Florida Animal Friend supports organizations that offer free or low-cost spay and neuter services to animals across Florida. But what you might not know is the crucial role the Florida Animal Friend specialty license plate plays in securing donations for the cause.
Florida Animal Friend has been helping animals in the state of Florida since 2006. In 2016, they decided to celebrate their 10-year anniversary by re-designing their plate. The overarching goal of the redesign was to attract more attention to their cause and increase plate purchases and donations. The new design not only features some adorable furry friends, but it also showcases the natural beauty of Florida by displaying a beautiful beach in the background.
With the purchase of each Florida Animal Friend specialty license plate, $25 goes toward helping end cat and dog overpopulation by increasing spay and neuter surgeries in the state.
Florida Animal Friend unveiled their newly designed plate in December 2016. Fast forward to 2018, and the impact has been felt in a major way. In its final year of use, the original Florida Animal Friend plate ranked #24 in the state among specialty plate purchases. After the redesign, the new plate has jumped to the #15 spot!
And that’s not all. Due to the increased number of plate sales, FAF was able to award over $547,450 in grants to 25 organizations across the state in 2018. All those donations helped reduce pet overpopulation and save lives.
